USA Basketball Notes:

• Named to the 2006 USA Basketball Women's U18 National Team on June 19, 2006.
• Member of the 2006 U18 National Team that went 4-0 to win the gold and qualify for the 2007 U19 World Championships in Bratislava, Slovakia.
• Averaged 6.3 ppg, 7.0 rpg and 1.8 spg for the 2006 U18 gold medal team in four games, starting three.
• The 7.0 rpg she averaged fourth on the team and tied for 11th overall for the tournament.
• The 1.8 spg she averaged ranked third on the team and tied for 13th overall for the tournament.

Collegiate Notes:

After fielding close to 40 basketball scholarship offers and widdling it down to a final 5 of Duke, Tennessee, Stanford, Texas and USC, Kayla committed to Stanford University (Calif.).

High School Honors:

• Participated in the 2007 McDonald's High School All-American Game where she scored 18 points and pulled down 10 rebounds for the game.
• Participated in the 2007 WBCA High School All-American Game.
• Selected to the Parade Magazine All-America first team in 2007.
• Named U.S. Marines Distinguished Athlete award in 2007.
• Is now the second all time leading scorer in the history of Arizona high school basketball and first in 5A (the largest school classification).
• Selected Scout.com's 4th ranked senior in the country in 2006.
• Selected to the Parade Magazine All-America third team in 2006.
• Honored as an EA Sports All-America second team selection in 2006.
• Tabbed the 2006 Gatorade Circle of Champions Arizona State Player of the Year.
• Named the Arizona Republic and East Valley Tribune State Player of the Year in 2006.
• Honored as the All-East Valley Player of the Year in 2005.
• Selected to the Arizona Republic and East Valley Tribune All-State first teams in 2005.
• An East Valley All-Region first team member and all-state honorable mention in 2004.

High School Notes:

• Led her team to the state championship as a senior in 2006-07.
• Ended her high school career with 2,611 points, 1,444 rebounds, 434 assists, 167 steals and 304 blocked shots in four seasons at Red Mountain High School (Ariz.) which are all school records.
• Recorded career highs of 47 points and 22 rebounds.
• As a junior in 2004-05, averaged 22.9 ppg., 12.0 rpg., 3.5 apg., 1.4 spg and 2.5 bpg. while leading her school to 27-5 and a state runner-up finish.
• Led her team to the state quarterfinals as a sophomore in 2004-05, averaging 22.6 ppg., 12.5 rpg., 3.5 apg., 2.4 spg and 3.2 bpg.
• Averaged 16.1 ppg., 10.4 rpg., 4.2 apg., 1.5 spg and 2.3 bpg. as a freshman in 2003-04.
